Teaching Method for 3rd Grade Math

I think this Ms. Saul a 3rd grade teacher in this video gives a great way to teach math. In this video students work independently using a graphic organizer to solve a problem at least three ways and then present their solutions to their group and class. Ms. Saul emphasizes that mistakes are okay and encourages students to wrestle with problems independently to build their confidence in problem solving on their own, then to collaborate with their groups to see how others solved the problem, which helps students learn to interact with one another and that its ok to ask each other questions.
